Job seminar

HireBVI.com is hosting an educational and motivational campaign called “Show me the Way: A Roadmap to Employment” starting next month.

The campaign, which is designed to show participants how to effectively market themselves to employers, will cover the following topics: “Crafting my Resume,” “Acing the Interview” and “Retaining the Job.” The first seminar, “Crafting my Resume,” will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on March 3 at The Moorings Conference Room. Participation is free, and attendees are encouraged to walk with a printed copy of their current resume. Airline update

BVI Airways announced last week that it has partnered with Platinum (BVI) Services Ltd., which will handle the government-subsided airline’s ground operations.As part of the management of the ground operations for BVI Airways, Platinum Services will be responsible for the provision of customer service agents and ramp handlers, as well as baggage handling.“We are proud to be the local handlers for BVI Airways as they work to address the airlift void we face in the territory,” Platinum Services CEO Pati Romney said of the deal. BVI Airways has not announced when it will begin direct flights between Tortola and Miami.
