Charitable donation

Virgin Islands resident Sir Richard Branson will join a group of billionaires who pledge to give away at least half of their wealth to charitable causes, he announced. Sir Richard did not disclose the amount that he will give or where the money will go, but in a two-page letter sent to the Giving Pledge Initiative, he outlined the reasons for his decision. “‘Stuff’ really is not what brings happiness,” he wrote. “Family, friends, good health and the satisfaction that comes from making a positive difference are what really matters. Happily, our children, who will be our principal heirs, agree with me on this.” The initiative was founded by billionaires Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates. Sir Richard is among the first group of non-American billionaires to sign up.
