Representatives of the BVI Tourist Board will attend a leading travel show in Berlin, Germany this week.

BVITB Chairman Russell Harrigan and Director Sharon Flax-Mars will join the board’s German team at the event, which is to start tomorrow and last through Sunday, according to a BVITB press release.

Representatives from The Moorings will also attend, as will Astrid Wenzke, who will represent various VI properties, and Miss BVI Sharie de Castro.

Ms. de Castro will help host a VI-themed event for tour operators, media and other attendees, the press release stated.

Silke Langenkamp, of the BVITB’s Germany office, described the event as “the world’s leading travel trade show and for us … a very good opportunity to foster our close relationship to the trade and media partners in the German markets.”

For the first time this year, the show will permit the sale of tourism services directly to consumers during the public days on Saturday and Sunday, according to the release.

The German office usually arranges a “BVI Reception,” inviting “BVI VIP Club members,” along with media and trade representatives, the release stated.

The VI team also is to attend a press breakfast targeting more than 100 media representatives.

The territory will be represented alongside other Caribbean nations, according to the release.
