I wonder what these critics who likened my Caribbean Travel Group offer to a pyramid scheme are up to now! They heard about a Caribbean liberation programme and suddenly the slave masters come out swinging, trying to poke holes in the programme to try to block it. This is the same type of programme strategy that white organisations have used to market their programmes for decades and are still using today. Such companies include Amway, Mary Kay, Shaklee, Freedom Fuel Plan, Primerica and others. Do you think that the slave master would have any interest in seeing Caribbean countries liberate themselves economically through an organised programme like this one? I think not.

This programme was set up by a Caribbean man to liberate the Caribbean region economically. What interest do they have in Caribbean liberation? The United States government, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, London and others who have been investigating these programmes have not concluded or categorised them as illegal or scams. There are various persons who set out to scam people with all kinds of Ponzi schemes, but this is not one of them. The reason why there is a high pay-out ratio to the capital investment is because most of those direct one-on-one marketing programmes have amassed a lot of wealth from the efforts of others and kept most of it for themselves, while the people who work hard receive very small incomes.

Not this programme. We are paying back a substantial portion of the income generated to the people who work hard to generate those funds, and everybody receives the same income unless someone decides to double up on their investment, in which case such persons will earn higher incomes. We are interested in Caribbean liberation, not Caribbean exploitation.

Membership details

The critics quoted in last week’s Beacon article “Campaign’s offer said to resemble pyramid scheme” did not mention whether the programme is capable of paying out the proposed dividends or not, but rather went to great lengths to figure out at what point the world would run out of people to invest in the programme. They did not notice or care to mention that the membership is for only one year and that renewal is voluntary, but they tried to give the impression that renewal is automatic. If they had noticed, they would see that after month 12, there are millions of people who will have graduated from the system and would be available for recycle.

They also have not noticed that by the 13th month, the programme would have already been substantially successful. There are plans in place to slow down and control the pace of growth after the first year and plans to phase out this method of marketing long before recruitment reaches infinity, but we do not have to spell out all our details publicly and put our business in the street.

We get some of these same programmes from white people who have enriched themselves from black folks and everybody else. Are they concerned that Caribbean people would be able to liberate themselves economically through this programme and then those speculators who are trying to get back the Caribbean islands from the natives would not be able realise their speculation? The policemen need to do their jobs: We want to know who killed Kendoy Penn and others.

This is a Caribbean programme to be controlled by Caribbean people, thank you very much.
