Cavaliers Captain Teddy Nankisore led his team to victory over the Vikings during last weekend’s Scotiabank Tournament at the Virgin Gorda Recreation Grounds.

Despite hot conditions, he managed to hit for 78. Mr. Nankisore told his team to stay positive and “keep the runs scoring.”

“You can’t let the opposition bog you down,” Mr. Nankisore said. “You have to play every ball on its merit.”

The final score was 181 to 125 in the 20-20 match.

He was very satisfied with his own score and how well his teammates batted.

“We stuck it out through the first inning without much of the wicket falling,” the captain said.

He came close to reaching the century mark, but wasn’t focusing on his own accomplishments, but rather the overall score and overs.

“I was trying to up the tempo a little,” Mr. Nankisore said. “If I would have reached the century mark it would have been a great achievement.”

The Cavaliers have won both of their games in the tournament so far, including a win against the Wolues.

“This is actually a bragging rights match,” Mr. Nankisore said.
