Within 90 days, work will begin to repair sections of the Ballast Bay road that were severely damaged during torrential rains in 2010, officials said last Thursday at the Cane Garden Bay Community Centre.

They were speaking at the second of two meetings hosted last week by Communications and Works Minister Mark Vanterpool to update residents about the series of “infrastructure improvement projects” being carried out in the territory with the help of a $15.7 million loan from the Caribbean Development Bank.

Last Thursday, residents heard details on repairs planned for three “failed slopes” in Ballast Bay from Kraus-Manning architect Joseph Sebastien, the project’s manager.

The previous evening, officials also met with residents in Carrot Bay to discuss works planned for Fortune Ghut.

FDL Consulting Inc. Managing Director Gilbert Fontenard said at that meeting that his firm has helped the government narrow the list of candidates to undertake the Fortune Ghut Drainage and Road Rehabilitation Project down to two.
