For the past year, Darel Christopher Jr. has been living in the United States with the goal to become a professional cyclist. He has been competing in races as a Category Five cyclist.

“He has shown steady progress in his training,” stated a BVI Cycling Federation release.

A month ago, Mr. Christopher advanced to Category Two, which is considered semi-professional. He is currently working on advancing to Category One with a signed contract.

Last week, he travelled to Wisconsin to compete in the Across America Racing Series, which will last for 11 days. If he consistently finishes at the top will have the opportunity to move up to Category One, and will be recognised as a professional cyclist.

Mr. Christopher continues to represent this territory at regional and international events.
