Last Wednesday, the BDO Primary Schools finals took place with several competitive matches being played at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds.

In the under-7 division, Cedar Green took the win, 3-1, on penalties against Montessori, after the game had remained tied at 0-0 until the final whistle.

In the under-9 division match, Althea Scatliffe beat Robinson O’Neal, 1-0. The only goal of the match came from Latriel Williams.

Latriel was able to slip between two defenders and volley home the goal.

In the under-12 division, Nicky Haycraft scored in the second half to help Cedar beat Bregado Flax, 1-0.

The MVP’s for each final were named: Ethan Mohammed for Cedar Green in the under-7; Latriel Williams for ASPS in the under-9 division and Nicky Haycraft, of Cedar School, in the under 12s.

Golden Glove recipients were Steven Portus (Enid Scatliffe, under-7), Akeem Paddy (ASPS, under-9) and Ollie Henderson (CIS, under-12).

The Golden Boot honorees: Sam Potgeiter (Montesorri, 24, under-7), Jaden Quashie (Robinson O’Neal, 18, under- 9) and Azarni Callwood (CIS,15, under-12).

The Overall League MVPs were Charlie Potgeiter (Montesorri), Jaden Quashie and Ryan Lettsome (CIS).

In addition primary school awards, the BVIFA High School Champions also received their awards with Jakisha Rigobert (BFEC) named as the Girls MVP; Kaylah Skelton (BFEC) and Lilly Pierce (CIS) jointly won the Golden Boots (10 each) and Davian Williams took the Golden Gloves.

BFEC were also crowned as League Champions.

In the Open High School Boys, BFEC added the League Championship Trophy to the Avanell “Clarky” Morton Cup and also saw Diego Jimenez (BFEC) named as MVP as well as Golden Gloves, while Chadwick Evans (ESHS) took home the Golden Boot award.

In the under-14 tournament, ESHS won the championship and was presented with the President’s Cup, which was won during the opening day in October last year.

The Golden Boot award went to Jahdique Winchester (BFEC), MVP Sheldon Harry (ESHS) and the Golden Glove went to Glenford Prentice (ESHS).
