Fishers from around the territory are invited to the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens on Monday to nominate members of the Fisheries Advisory Committee, government announced in a Friday press release.

The body, which is required under the 1997 Fisheries Act, will advise the minister of natural resources and labour on the development and management of fisheries in the Virgin Islands, according to government.

All fishers are invited to attend the 10 a.m. meeting. Before it, at 9 a.m., another meeting will be held to introduce the V-Notching Programme for lobster fishers.
