Officers of the police Special Crime Team led the process of recording and counting a quantity of illegal drugs that were then taken to the Pockwood Pond incinerator and destroyed on Friday, police said.

Some 2,784 grams of marijuana and 55.1 grams of cocaine were counted and incinerated, according to the Police Information Office.

Witnesses to the count and burning were Magistrate Dr. Velon John; Police Service Commission member Milton Creque; and a photographer from the Department of Information and Public Relations, police said.

The media was not invited to attend as in the past.
