Seized firearms have reached the double digits this year as the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force found four more Tuesday in Palestina Estate, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

Ms. Drayton said police found four guns and a large quantity of ammunition when carrying out a search warrant at a home in the area.

Guns seized included a 0.22 calibre rifle, a 0.30-30 rifle, a shotgun, and a 0.32-calibre handgun. There were 300 rounds of ammunition for the guns, Ms. Drayton said.

The information officer said no charges have been laid in relation to the incident, but that the investigation is ongoing.

The seizure comes days after the RVIPF found a 0.45-calibre handgun — their sixth seizure of the year — and charged Wayne Stoutt Jr., 26, of Great Mountain, with unlawful possession of a firearm.
