Rounding out the men’s division, Adrian Dale was second, while Gary Salter, in his first triathlon, took third.

Sally Blackmore and Tia Beckmann were second and third, respectively, in the women’s division.

The shorter distance event is a warm up for the BVI Steelman on Dec. 6

Saturday’s triathlon featured a 700-metre swim, 12.5-mile bike and a three-mile run.

Although Mr. Crumpler and Ms. Ruscheinski both improved on their 2013 times, last year’s winners Antony Spencer and Jules Potgieter kept their record-setting times.

Team Bodge, Stodge & Scarper (Ray Wearmouth, Gareth Thomas and Clare-Louise Whiley) won the team division in less than one hour.

A kids event was also held at Trellis Bay.

Sammy Potgieter and Seb Morgan were first and second in the under-8 division.

In the over-8 division, Nicolas Haycraft was first, Alex Fountain second, Tai Thomas third, and Gethin Jones came in fourth.
