Students, parents and educators gathered at the Sir Rupert Briercliffe Hall on Sunday for the opening ceremony of Education Week.

Presentations from teachers and students during the ceremony included dramatisations, plait pole and musical selections.

Throughout the week, which is being observed under the theme “Journey to Literacy Through the Arts,” schools are holding various activities.

On Tuesday, students participated in the Caribbean Arts and Crafts Festival Exhibition at the Sir Olva Georges Plaza.

The Inter-Primary Schools Sports Day is scheduled to take place today at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds. A march-past at 9:15 a.m. will kick off the competitions.

Tomorrow open houses are to be held at all schools.

Education Week is to come to an end on Saturday with a “Virgin Islands Stars in Education Award Ceremony and Cocktail Reception.”
