Thursday marked the end of an academic journey for 183 students of the Elmore Stoutt High School.

Dressed in blue robes and mortarboards, the students followed their teachers down the aisle at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex for their graduation ceremony.

Speakers included valedictorian Kia Barry, Education and Culture Minister Andrew Fahie, and acting Principal Melissa Amey.

Ms. Amey congratulated the students, saying they scored the highest grades of any class in the last 10 years. She also gave them advice for the future.

“Position yourselves to fulfill God’s purpose in your lives,” the acting principal said, advising students to pursue studies in careers that they will love.

The valedictorian also offered words of advice.

“As this journey ends, another begins, and this one presents an opportunity to prove ourselves,” Ms. Barry said.
