By 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, Elmore Stoutt High School student Soraya Durrante was already awake, ready to walk with other residents from the Church of God of Prophesy at Belle Vue to the Long Trench Community Centre.

There were about 20 people at the church compound for the event, which was organised in observance of Caribbean Wellness Day. Similar activities were held around the territory.

Months ago, Ms. Durrante used to exercise often, but she stopped, she said. After walking from the church to the community centre and back, she decided to change that.

“It strengthens me,” Ms. Durrante said of exercising. “It makes me more solid and gives my body a perfect shape.”
