After five segments, the contestants in the Miss Teen BVI Scholarship Pageant stood in front more than 500 people at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium to hear who would be crowned.
Kimberly Herbert, Shona Rogers, Jameisha Nibbs, Doneisha Findlay and Ashelica Fahie smiled as the crowd cheered.
Each girl wore an evening gown and held a bouquet of flowers.
One after another, awards were handed out to Ms. Fahie: Miss Popularity, Miss Intellect, Best BVI Promotional Speech, Miss Poised and Best Cultural Costume.
Then, when her name was called as the overall winner, Ms. Fahie lifted her hands, smiled, and said, “Thank you, Lord.”
