Anyone wishing to register their household for assistance should do so at the Road Town Senior Centre or the BVI Red Cross by Saturday, according to Government Information Services.

Government, the BVIRC, the British Red Cross, the United Kingdom Department for International Development and Caritas Antilles plan to assist homes that meet some of the in-need criteria, including households with little or no income; people with disabilities or health issues; single-parent families; families with children under 5; and families with people over age 65.

“I do hope that together we can move forward as a people who continue to be each other’s keeper and move straight ahead into a stronger BVI,” Health and Social Development Minister Ronnie Skelton (R-at large) said in a statement about the programme.

Anyone unable to reach those locations on Tortola should register using the Health and Social Development Ministry’s hotlines, including 468-9377, 468-9375 and 468-9352; 344-6134 for Spanish speakers; and 344-5651 for Virgin Gorda residents, according to GIS.

Registration closes on Saturday.
