For the first time since 1991, the Elmore Stoutt High School had a male valedictorian and salutatorian this year, Principal Melissa Amey said during the school’s graduation ceremony on Thursday at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

Of 198 ESHS graduates, 43 finished with honours, 28 with high honours, according to Ms. Amey.

Other graduation ceremonies were held around the territory in recent days.

On Wednesday, four boys finished Cedar International School during a ceremony at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. All of them gave speeches, paying tributes to each other and describing the close relationship they shared at the school.

In another ceremony earlier in the day, 14 students received certificates for successfully completing various vocational courses at the BVI Technical Vocational Institute.

The graduation for Claudia Creque Educational Centre on Anegada was scheduled for Friday, and the Seventh-day Adventist Secondary School’s graduation is to be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the school.
