Eighty-seven percent of the students in the territory’s inaugural Grade 12 class met their graduation requirements, according to Education and Culture Minister Myron Walwyn.

This means they satisfied their class requirements; passed their exit proficiency examinations in math and English; and completed 120 hours of community service.

At Elmore Stoutt High School, 159 of 162 students passed all of the requirements, for a 98 percent success rate. Seventy-one students achieved honours and four achieved high honours.

At Bregado Flax Educational Centre, 29 out of 40 students passed, for a 72 percent success rate. Fifteen received honours and one achieved high honours.

At the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies, eight out of 24 students passed, a 33 percent success rate that Mr. Walwyn incorrectly reported at 67 percent. He could not be reached for comment. Two students achieved honours and one achieved high honours.

At the Claudia Creque Educational Centre on Anegada, both students passed with honours.

The top students were Kierra John of VISTS, with a 4.3 grade point average, and Kerriann Freeman of ESHS, with a 4.07 GPA.
