On Sunday afternoon at the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens, Eudean Legair sat down to have her face painted. Purple being her favourite colour, she had a purple hibiscus drawn on her right cheek.

Afterwards, she joined other visitors in the Fish Lock Hall viewing hibiscus blooms lined up on tables.

The display was the BVI Hibiscus Society’s second flower show since the organisation was reinstated last year.

“I am thinking of joining the society,” Ms. Legair said, picking up brochures about the group. “Hibiscus is one of my favourite flowers.”

Society President Lillian Lopez-Farara said the show went well despite a lower turnout than expected.
