Hospital closed, staff not commenting

The automatic sliding glass doors outside of Peebles Hospital were locked on Wednesday afternoon following online reports about a shooting in Baughers Bay, and no explanation was provided by the staff members inside.

“I’m trying to pick up some medication,” said Alcedo Lettsome, who was standing outside the doors. “You can’t get in.”

Franka Potter, marketing and communications manager at the BVI Health Services Authority, was not available for comment.

Attempts to contact acting Police Information Officer Beverly James were not immediately successful.
