If you own a soft-top SUV, beware: Your licence sticker may be vulnerable to theft, said Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

Ms. Drayton said there has been a recent upsurge in sticker thefts, particularly from soft-top and unlocked vehicles.

Police are investigating the thefts and are asking for assistance from the public in identifying the perpetrators, she said.

Officers are also seeking assistance in apprehending the person or people who reportedly stole 40 construction jacks marked with the initials “RW” on Sept. 23 at Little Dix Hill, as well as front and rear licence plates marked PF-207 from a Free Bottom vehicle on Sept. 26, she said.

The information officer added that a reward may be available for people with information about the recent crimes.

Those with information can call the Criminal Investigations Department through the police access number 311, she said.
