Agnes Cormack, a 62-year-old Canadian vacationing in the Virgin Islands, died after swimming off the coast of Virgin Gorda Friday afternoon, according to Police Information Officer Akia Thomas.

After Virgin Islands Search and Rescue received a report at 3:10 p.m. from a yacht in Savannah Bay of a distressed swimmer, a rescue team boated to Pond Bay, where they performed CPR on Ms. Cormack before transporting her to the VISAR base on Tortola, said VISAR rescue coordinator Phil Aspinall.
