Kiover Hatchett, 20, was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to an attack that occurred around 11:10 p.m. on Sept. 26 in the area of the Sunday Morning Well, according to the Police Information Office.
Police said the victim was a 47-year-old man who had recently moved to Lower Estate. He was reportedly walking in the area of the well when he was attacked by a group of young men.
The victim sustained an injury to his head, police said, and he received treatment at Peebles Hospital.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault to call 311 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline, 800-TIPS (8477).
