Royal Virgin Islands Police Force officers have seized six firearms from people so far this year, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.
The sixth seizure came over the weekend when police executed a search warrant in the house of the parents of Wayne Stoutt Jr., 26, of Great Mountain, said Ms. Drayton.
After allegedly finding a 0.45 calibre handgun and seven rounds of ammunition, they charged Mr. Stoutt with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Ms. Drayton said the matter continues to be under investigation.
