A man has been charged with unlawful and malicious wounding in connection to a domestic assault that took place at a Long Trench home on June 7, according to the Police Information Office.
Claudius Bailey, 36, of Long Trench, is expected to appear at the Magistrates’ Court today to face the charges.
After being rescued by neighbours during the assault, the female victim was taken to Peebles Hospital, where she received treatment for head injuries, police said.
She is in stable condition.
