Irene Mars, 21, of Purcell Estate, was charged on Tuesday with wounding with intent after allegedly stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the abdomen, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.
Initial reports suggest that the couple was having an argument at Ms. Mars’ residence when the incident occurred on Sunday evening, Ms. Drayton said.
She added that the victim was taken to Peebles Hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
Ms. Mars’ court appearance is pending, Ms. Drayton said.
