Two men allegedly burst into a Vanterpool Estate home Friday night and left with $200 and two cell phones after threatening the occupant, according to police.

The men, who entered the home just before midnight, had their “faces masked with hoodies,” according to acting Police Information Officer Carl Mason. “One had what appeared to be a gun, the other a crowbar,” he said.

The occupant of the home, who police have not identified, was hit on the left hand with the crowbar and threatened, Mr. Mason said. He was treated for injuries and released from Peebles Hospital.

Officers attended “promptly” and searched the area, but the men were not found, Mr. Mason said, adding that investigations continue.
