Police are questioning a suspect in relation to a Thursday night shooting in the Huntums Ghut area, Police Information Officer Diane Drayton announced on Friday.
The victim, a Dominican Republic native whose name the police withheld, said that he was walking through the parking lot of an apartment building by the Huntums Ghut basketball court when he heard gunshots, Ms. Drayton said.
He then realised he had been shot.
Though a suspect is being questioned, detectives are still asking for people who may have been near the area when the incident occurred to provide any information that could help in identifying a suspicious man dressed in a black shirt, according to the information officer.
Police can be contacted through access number 311, she said, adding that a reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and prosecution of the offender.
