Man shot in the leg at Belle Vue

A man was shot in the Belle Vue area Sunday night, police said.

“One male received an injury to the leg,” according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton, who added that the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unclear.

After the shooting, the victim was transported to Peebles Hospital, where he received treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, Ms. Drayton said.
