A committee charged with reviewing the territory’s minimum wage has submitted its final report to government, but the document has not been made public and no details have been provided about its findings.

Simon Potter, chairman of the Minimum Wage Advisory Committee, presented the report to Deputy Premier Dr. Kedrick Pickering last Friday, according to government.

The committee was charged with advising the minister on whether the minimum wage should be increased, and, if so, by how much.

Since Dr. Pickering, the minister of natural resources and labour, appointed the committee in November, members have conducted research and carried out public consultations in the territory.

Dr. Pickering said the report will be submitted to Cabinet for “prompt review and action,” according to government.

The minimum wage has remained at $4 an hour since 1999.
