The Claudette “Boopie” Smith Festiville was packed with thousands of revellers on Aug. 4 during the International Music Night ready to dance.

Several local and regional performers took to the stage performing songs that had the crowd waving flags in the air and singing along.

Among performers during the night were zouk band Kassav, Shurwayne Winchester, Showtime Band, Skinny Fabulous, Sistah Joyce and Luther B, who was named the 2012 calypso monarch.

Saturday night attracted the largest crowd with attendees spread throughout the Festival Village in Road Town.

The International Reggae Night drew a big crowd, almost comparable to the one on Saturday. On Friday, several local and international artists performed. The night began with a performance from Heritage and ended on a high note with Trinidad and Tobago’s Destra. Other performance for the night included Junior Reid, Shine I, Barrington Levy, Christopher Martin and Imo.

Both International Music Night and the International Reggae night were the most attended nights during the Festival, which included concerts each night for nearly two weeks.

Several local bands took the stage during the week performing for crowds of thousands of people each night.
