An off-duty police officer driving near the Road Town Police Station Sunday night collided with a pedestrian crossing the street, police said.

The officer was driving along Pickering Street headed toward Huntums Ghut at about 6:45 when the collision occurred, according to a police press release.

The pedestrian was treated and released from Peebles Hospital, and statements are being taken from the officer and the pedestrian to determine the cause of the collision, according to the release.
