Government transportation ministers across the region are considering ways to create an integrated airspace for the Caribbean, a move that could increase options for travelers and boost tourism, officials said.

Transportation ministers from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago will be in discussions later this month regarding the issue, said Michael Henry, Jamaica’s minister for transportation and works.

The ministers’ talks will discuss the development of “integrated air travel for the Caribbean. The aim is “to make it more economically viable, more speedily attainable, and that we will develop better interconnectivity,” Mr. Henry said, according to a press release from the Jamaica Information Service.
