Two gunmen robbed a Baughers Bay bar early Monday morning escaping with a gold chain and an undisclosed amount of money, police said. In an unrelated incident, a man living aboard a ship moored in West End was reportedly found with a loaded handgun on Sunday, police said.

Monday’s robbery took place as the bar owner was about to close up for the night at around 2 a.m., according to a police press release. Two masked men entered dressed in black clothing and carrying handguns. They demanded money and ended up stealing the bar’s earnings for that night, the release stated. Police did not disclose the amount of money taken or the name of the bar.

Meanwhile, on Sunday police arrested Jamal Lewis, a 27-year-old native of Trinidad living aboard Tortola Services, a barge moored in West End. Mr. Lewis was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of explosives after police searched him and found a loaded 38-caliber pistol. The search was carried out after a man reported that Mr. Lewis had assaulted him with a gun at an “entertainment venue” on Tortola, according to police.
