Police seized two vessels Thursday, one carrying a “large quantity of cannabis” and the other carrying six kilograms of cocaine, according to the Police Information Office.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday officers of the Special Investigations Unit and the Marine Branch stopped a yacht near Anegada with three men aboard: an Antiguan, a Vincentian and a Barbadian, a police press release said, adding, “A search of the vessel uncovered a large quantity of cannabis.”

Police also report stopping a go-fast boat at around 4:15 p.m. on the northern side of Tortola with two natives of the United States Virgin Islands onboard. A search of the boat resulted in the seizure of six kilograms of cocaine, according to the release.

“The men are still in custody and investigations continue,” it said.

Both boats are being held at the Police Marine Base at Road Reef.
