Work got under way over the weekend on the installation

of about 1,400 feet of pipeline as part of the Road Town component of the National Sewerage Project, according to Government Information Services.

Currently, work is ongoing next to the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park.

The pipeline needs replacing due to collapses and debris blockage, according to GIS. Officials said the new pipes will allow better flow and increased capacity and will facilitate future development in the Road Town area.

The Road Town phase of the project is being managed, engineered and supervised by CBE Engineering Associates Limited.

CBE Project Manager Samuel McIntosh has asked the public for patience for the duration of the project, which is expected to last about three months.

“We are talking about utility construction,” Mr. McIntosh said. “A lot of times we don’t know what we will encounter until we start digging. There are a lot of cables underground, some of which are not marked, so there might be some disruptions.”
