Virgin Islands performers will take a stand against substance abuse on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. during the Artists Against Addiction Showcase at the Central Administration Building breezeway.

The event is part of the Sandy Lane Centre’s annual Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Awareness Month, according to Government Information Services.

A slogan competition marked the opening of the month, with the winning entry submitted by Romana Peters: “Don’t Give Up, Don’t Give In. With Hope, Substance Abuse Cannot Win.”

Activities also include a visual arts competition in the schools, educational presentations, and a church service held Sunday at the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church.
