Spend more time with your children and set a positive example, fathers of Francis Lettsome Primary School students were advised last Thursday during a ceremony in their honour at Lambert Beach Hotel.

Apart from speeches, some attendees received awards, including Alex Paul, who was named the school’s Father of the Year.

Former Police Commissioner Reynell Frazer, who emceed, urged fathers to be devoted to their responsibilities.

“Fatherhood is indeed a mark of responsibility, but it can also be fun filled,” he said. “Some fathers miss the opportunity to spend time and participate in their children’s upbringing because they are too busy engaging in other endeavours.”

Fathers should lead by example, Mr. Frazer told the gathering of nearly 50 people.
“Teach your children that it is okay to make mistakes. … The important thing is to learn from the mistakes and to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again,” he said.
