The BVI Horse Owner’s Association will host six races at the Ellis Thomas Downs on Sunday.
All of the races will feature horses from Tortola.
In the first race, Yes By Eric and Meddeling Birdy in their debut will face Power Ten, Original Runner and Mark It A Wynn in the 6.5-furlong race. The event will carry a $3,000 purse.
In the second race, Orithyia, Buy Buy Buy and Prince of Speed will compete in a one-mile event for $3,200.
The third race will feature True Essence, Miss Homer, Southern Dunn and Bitter Sweet Dream in the 6.5-furlong event. The race carries a $3,500 purse.
In the fourth race, Kiton in its debut will take on Star Ship Titan, Sin Mirar Atras and Fort Pyramid in the seven-furlong event, which carries a $4,000 purse.
Only two horses — Apollo Sky and Doughmaker — will run the one-mile fifth race. The winner will take home $5,000.
The final race will be a seven-furlong event and will feature Chilean Boy, Trading Secrets and Luxury Appeal competing for the $4,500 purse.
The first race is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
