The BVI Softball Association fast pitch league playoffs got under way last Tuesday when the Pythons beat the Hawks, 14-11, in the first game of the series.

 

The Pythons had seven hits, eight errors and left five runners on base. The Hawks had eight hits, eight errors and left six runners on base. The winning pitcher was Valisia Braithwaite.

Ivy Fahie, of the Pythons, went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, while Tamara Phillips went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Jheane Niles, of the Hawks, went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Javlyn Frett went 2 for 3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

On July 21, the Reds defeated the Republica Dominicana, 5-4, in the first game of their series.

The Reds had four hits, two errors and left six runners on base.

The Republica Dominicana had five hits, one error and left five runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Lionel Hodge.

Lloyd Jackson, of the Reds, went 1 for 2 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Leon Martin scored two runs.

The Republica Dominicana’s runs came on a three-run homer by Clifford Green and a home run by Eddy Morales.

On July 22, the Pirates beat Power Outage, 6-5.

The Pirates had four hits, six errors and left six runners on base.

The Power Outage had seven hits, three errors and left six runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Allen Smith.

The Pirates’ Tramore Frazer scored three runs f Kye Rymer went 1 for 2 with two runs scored, two RBIs and had a game winning two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Sheldon John and Jamal Allen, of Power Outage, had a home run in the loss.

Last Friday, the Pythons won its second game of the five-game series against the Hawks, 16-3.

The winning pitcher was Valisia Braithwaite.

Sheniqua Fahie, of Pythons, went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Denecia Hodge went 1 for 3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.

In the second game, the Republica Dominicana beat the Reds, 12-2, to tie the series at 1-1.

The Republica Dominicana had 12 hits, one error and left seven runners on base.

The Reds had three hits, one error and left six runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Yervis Rodriguez.

Alfonso Tejada, of the Republica Dominicana, went 3 for 3 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and six RBIs, while Edward Venzen went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a run scored and a RBI.

Richard Clendinen, of the Reds, went 1 for 1 with two RBIs.

On Saturday, the Pirates beat Power Outage, 14-2, to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Pirates had seven hits, one error and left seven runners on base.

The Power Outage had six hits, five errors and left five runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Allen Smith.

Devon Bedford, of the Pirates, went 1 for 3 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Nikos Penn went 1 for 2 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Sheldon John hit a home run for the Power Outage and knocked in two runs.

In the second game of the night, the Reds defeated the Republica Dominicana, 16-2, to take the lead in the series, 2-1.

The Reds had 10 hits, no errors and left three runners on base.

The Republica Dominicana had four hits, four errors and left three runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Roy Hill.

Lloyd Jackson, of the Reds, went 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Timothy Brewer went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs.

George Veras and Edward Venzen, of the Reds, each went 1 for 2 with a RBI.
