On Sunday, St. Moose won the Virgin Islands Classic for his third successive major victory this year at the Ellis Thomas Downs.

In the sixth race, Wrol Up won the seven-furlong race to take the $10,000 purse in 1:32 minutes. Chilean Boy took second, while St. Croix’s Uptown Anthem was third and With Honors took fourth. Bitter Sweet Dream was scratched.

The event opened with Orithyia running to victory over Dramacidel in the 6.5-furlong race, which carried a $5,000 purse. The winning time was 1:29.’

In the second race, Mark It A Wynn ran to victory in the Class D seven-furlong event. However, the win was overshadowed when Optionality ran through the outer rail and threw him off the jockey, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Miss Homer beat Extra Dinner in the fourth race to win the $5,300 purse in 1:34 minutes. Motion To Appeal was third and Crazy Laura was scratched.

I’m Sensational won the third race over Sin Mir Atras and Buy Buy Buy to take home the $5,500. 

In the last race of the day, Atorrante beat Yes By Eric with a time of 1:26.3’ for the $7,000 purse.
