Nineteen students graduated from the Alternative Secondary Education Programme on Thursday during a ceremony at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

The graduates were urged not stop with just a high school certificate.

“It is great to plan your future, just don’t live there, because nothing happens in the future,” said Chief Education Officer Killian Douglas-Phillips. “What happens happens now.”

Education and Culture Minister Myron Walwyn urged the graduates to consider taking courses at HLSCC.

“Whatever it is that you dream you can do, I’m here today to tell you you can achieve [it]. Do not let today be your last graduation,” Mr. Walwyn said.
