Between finding the perfect invitations, dress, cake, venue, deejay and photographer, planning a wedding can be a full-time job. That might be why many couples choose to hire someone else to do it.

Someone like wedding planner Sandra Harrigan.

“I do everything they need,” Ms. Harrigan said. “Flowers, cake, minister — whatever they want.”

Ms. Harrigan, owner of New Beginnings BVI, has been putting together weddings in Virgin Gorda for about 10 years, often for couples or small groups doing what the tourism industry calls destination weddings, she said.

According to the client letters on Ms. Harrigan’s website, couples appreciate having a worry-free wedding.

For her part, making sure a couple gets the wedding they want is all in a day’s work.

“If you’re coming hundreds of miles and spending all this money, of course you want it to be just right,” Ms. Harrigan said. “Once the bride and groom are happy, I’m happy.”
