Police officers executed two search warrants Wednesday morning and arrested two men and one woman for questioning in relation to the Monday murder of David James, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.

During the course of the searches, officers recovered a firearm, ammunition and a small quantity of drugs, Ms. Drayton stated.

Mr. James, 28, was fatally wounded in a shooting at about 10 p.m. Monday at his home in Purcell Estate, according to police. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Peebles Hospital.

A post-mortem on the body will be performed to confirm the cause of death, police said.

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner St. Clair Amory appealed for the continued cooperation of the public.

“We are continuing our inquiries and are acting on intelligence which is provided to the Major Crime Team,” he said. “We appeal to the public to continue their efforts to assist us with information that can help bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice.”
