The Virgin Islands under-17 women’s national football team.
For several weeks the team has been training at Cappoons Bay. For a lot of the players it was the first time the team has played together since competing in the under-15 CONCACAF tournament in the Cayman Islands.

Group 3 includes St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Virgin Islands will play its first game on Saturday against St. Kitts and Nevis at 8 p.m.

On Monday, the VI will play Trinidad and Tobago at 5:30 p.m. and on Wednesday they will face Dominica at 5:30 p.m.

BVI Football Association Technical Director Katie Rowson is confident that the players have “all gelled well and could surprise a few of the more illustrious group rivals.”

“Really pleased with the squad so far, they played well together in the practice games and seem to have retained a lot from what they learnt last year,” Ms. Rowson said. “Hopefully we can just progress on from there and do better than last year, not necessarily in terms of results, but certainly in terms of performance.”

The team includes Dani Taylor, Jackisha Rigobert, Kaylah Skelton, Gabby Dawson, Lilly Pierce, Emily Lowrey, Abbie Heywood, Katie Lowrey, Morgan Creque, Tia Modeste, Olivia Messum, Shevonne Vanterpool, D’Avian Williams, Sheniece St John,  Bethany Howarth, Akira Phillips.
