The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Argus is due to visit the Virgin Islands as part of its hurricane season tour 
around the region, according to a press release from the Royal Navy.
The ship is scheduled to be here Sunday through Tuesday. During the three-day stop, Commanding Officer Gerard Patterson is to meet with Governor Boyd McCleary, Premier Dr. Orlando Smith, acting Police Commissioner David Morris and Sharleen DaBreo, director of the Department of Disaster Management.
Ship staff will also conduct “joint exercises” with Fire and Rescue Services, the Marine Police Unit and the DDM.
On Monday, 20 volunteers from the ship will join the Rotary Club Sunrise’s effort to improve Gorda Peak National Park in Virgin Gorda.
“The project aims to enhance visitors’ experience of the walking trails on the territory’s second highest peak by widening and levelling the trails, clearing away foliage and providing picnic tables,” the release states.
