Beachgoers had even more to watch than usual on Saturday at Cane Garden Bay. On the sand, there were games for children like sack races and sand sculptures. Inside, there were music, a recycled art contest and an Easter egg hunt.

“It’s a really big crowd, a great turnout,” said Valerie Rhymer, Myett’s Garden & Grille owner, as young children clustered around tables, trading the candy and small treats from the plastic Easter eggs they’d just gathered up.

Behind the restaurant, another celebration had just wrapped up: the grand opening of the glass studio of Green VI, a non-profit organisation dedicated to environmental sustainability and education in the Virgin Islands.
