The Virgin Islands will be represented this weekend at the 2011 Caribbean HIV Conference in the Bahamas.

Between 2,000 and 2,500 people are expected to attend the event, which is to start tomorrow and wrap up on Monday, according to a press release from this territory’s HIV-AIDS Foundation.

An abstract submitted by the VI organisation was chosen to be presented during the weekend. Written by Dr. Ronald McAnaney and titled  “A Community Responds To HIV,” the paper describes the development of the HIV-AIDS Foundation as a non-government not-for-profit organisation, according to the press release.
