Roadwork and sewer upgrades are coming soon to Road Town and Parham Town, government announced this week.

Starting on Sept. 6, the Ministry of Communications and Works will carry out pipeline upgrades in two Road Town locations: on Boo Bay Drive between Tortola Department Store and the Glancina George Building, and on Nibbs Street between the Cutlass Tower and Waterfront Drive, according to Government Information Services.

“These works are a part of the territory’s National Sewerage Project, in which government will establish and upgrade sewer connections to businesses and homes in the area,” said Anthony McMaster, the ministry’s acting permanent secretary.

The works will be carried out from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends as required to complete the project by Nov. 15, Mr. McMaster added.

In Parham Town, roadwork will start Monday, according to GIS.

The project, which is part of larger efforts funded by a Caribbean Development Bank loan, is to include road rehabilitation and resurfacing; drainage installation; and water main upgrades.

The Parham Town project is to be completed within six months after the commencement date, according to GIS.

Sandwise Ltd, the contractor, will carry out works on the drainage system and the road, while the Water and Sewerage Department will upgrade the water main, government stated. The project manager is FDL Consult Inc.
